Authentic Greek Salad
Horiatiki
No lettuce. The feta goes on as a whole block, not crumbled — that is what makes it the real thing.

- 1 Cut the tomatoes into thick, irregular wedges. Slice the English cucumber into thick half-moons. Slice the green bell pepper into thin rings. Slice the red onion into thin half-moons.
- 2 Arrange the cut vegetables in a large, shallow serving bowl.
- 3 Whisk together the olive oil, red wine vinegar and a small pinch of salt. Drizzle this evenly over the vegetables and toss gently.
- 4 Scatter the Kalamata olives across the top.
- 5 Place the whole block of feta directly on top of the salad bed. Drizzle a tiny bit of olive oil over the cheese block and dust the entire salad with the dried oregano.
